For as long as I can remember, I was always caring for animals. When I was young I rescued stray cats, abandoned bunnies, baby birds that fell out of trees, lost dogs, you name it. I convinced my mom to let me take care of whatever stray I found. If I couldn’t convince her I hid them in our garage.
The first time I brought my city dog to the river bottom and watched him run and explore free of a leash, my heart burst. There was an obvious smile on his face and a gleam in his eye – he was so happy. Right then and there I knew that every dog should have that experience – that chance to free their heart and spirit and just be a happy dog. This was the spark that started the idea of opening a dog resort.
Caring for animals and seeing them happy is one of the most rewarding things I do. Not only do I want the honor to be able to care for your fur babies, I want to share the wonderful River Bottom paradise we have with them and make them part of our River Bottom family. I want them to know no matter what happens, they always have a safe loving place to come to in the River Bottom.
